Plume is a recoiling mudguard for your bike. It maintains a thin, sleek profile when protecting the rider’s back and recoils into a tight coil under the saddle when you don’t need it around. Plume was created by lifelong bike-riders and designers Dan McMahon and Patrick Lang.
The logomark acts as both a monogram and representational illustration of the coil when nestled under your seat. The mark is the centerpiece of the identity, which we applied across packaging, website, merch, and product’s mount.
The physical construction Plume inspired almost all design choices, from the logo lockup to the letterhead layout, which is a nod to the uncoiled fender.
In addition to the initial branding, we created a set of goods as backing rewards to support Plume's Kickstarter funding campaign.
